Joanna Birchfield, LMSW, is a native Houstonian, and the daughter of Jim L. Culpepper. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1992, and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work from Abilene Christian University in 1997. She then earned a Master’s of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2000. She became a licensed social worker in 2002.

Mrs Birchfield has worked in the D/FW area, and Houston, as a social worker in the medical field. She also has used her social work skills working with elementary school children in Corsicana, TX.

Mrs Birchfield has joined Jim L. Culpepper & Associates, P.C. to incorporate her social work knowledge and medical field experience into the legal field, promoting the most comprehensive positive client outcomes.

Mrs Birchfield is bilingual. In addition to Spanish courses taken, she spent 4 months in Tegucigalpa, Honduras as a translator for a nutrition clinic at the Baxter Institute, an institute for biblical education and preaching preparation.

Mrs Birchfield attends West University Church of Christ with her husband, Kevin Birchfield. She teaches 1-3 grade Sunday School, and is involved with the ladies’ ministries there as well. She has been a member there since March, 2002. She and Kevin married June 2003.
